Suitcases4Kids Mission
We embrace the needs of children moving into or out
of state care or any type of shelter or homeless
environment and provide them with a suitcase
for their personal belongings so that children
gain a sense of dignity and help to
create a better world.
Children in foster and institutional care move from foster home
to foster home, from institution to institution ...
sometimes several times a year.
Most often, the children are given ... a garbage bag ... in
which to place their personal belongings.
Suitcases4Kids, Inc (S4K) was founded in 2009 by Ronald
Nickerson to show children that they, and their
personal belongings, are not 'garbage'.
Ron has worked in foster care and the social services
environment for 25 years and has 3 foster sons.
Suitcases4Kids collects suitcases, duffel bags and backpacks
and distributes them to children in foster and state care ...
at no charge!
To date Suitcases4Kids has collected over 25,000 suitcases!
Hooray!
But the numbers are staggering. State by state the number of
children in need of foster care is increasing. At the same
time, organizations that distribute clothing, food and
home items needed by families have seen a dramatic
increase in demand for their products and services.
Suitcases4Kids has also experienced an increase in requests for
their products and services as well as requests for items that
children can use and would easily fit inside a suitcase,
including:
• Personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hair care, etc)
• Food (especially healthy breakfast and snack items that
DO NOT contain colorings, dyes or artificial preservatives).
• School supplies (the largest growing area of
requests received by Suitcases4Kids).
There's a lot to do.

Due to state laws, and for the protection and safety of children
in foster care, we cannot divulge the addresses of foster
homes. Suitcases4Kids works directly with State
DCF (Dept of Children and Families) offices,
certified state vendors and licensed social
workers for all deliveries.
All granola orders will be delivered to the children.
How To Order
1) Scroll back to the top. In the Qty field indicate the number of
1 lb BAGS you wish to sponsor, then click 'Add To Cart'.
This will begin the order process. You can order
other products, too.
2) Follow the prompts. The Billing Address and the Ship To
Address will be different. For the Billing Address
information use the name and address where
you receive your credit card statement.
Your Ship To address must be a physical street address.
